Prayer Shawl Ministry
Prayer shawls are knitted or crocheted by members of Our Savior’s. The creator prays while knitting, knowing that the blessings that are bestowed upon the work of making the shawl will be felt by the recipient. Through this ministry, the prayer shawls will envelope persons through illness, surgery, recovery and the difficult times of one’s life.
Annually, the shawls also receive a special blessing during worship. They are distributed throughout the year by members of the Health Cabinet to individuals with the warmth and prayers accompanying them.
Prayer Shawl Prayer
May this shawl be for me a sign of your loving, healing presence.
May it warm when I am weary; may it surround me with encouragement
when I am discouraged. May it assure me of your care and comfort when
my loved ones and I are in pain. May it remind me that you love me.
And that I am surrounded by the prayers of others.

Matthew 28:18-20
“Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
